Ihre Aufgabe

Als Embedded Software Engineer mit dem Fokus Testtooling sind Sie für die Weiterentwicklung der firmeneigenen Produkte zuständig. Gemeinsam mit dem Team erarbeiten Sie Architekturvorschläge, dokumentieren diese mit Hilfe geeigneter Werkzeuge und stellen sicher, dass diese gemäß der Entwicklungsvorgaben termingerecht umgesetzt werden. Die hohen Sicherheitsanforderungen an unser Produkt bestimmen stets Ihr Denken und Handeln.

Weitere Aspekte Ihrer Tätigkeit sind:

  • Weiterentwicklung der teaminternen Testumgebung
  • Testing und Testautomatisierung der teilweise zertifizierten Produkte
  • Bugfixing

Ihr Profil

Sie bringen Erfahrungen in moderner Embedded-Entwicklung und idealerweise praktische Erfahrungen in der Programmierung mit Java mit. Eine (technische) Ausbildung oder ein Studium der (bspw.) Informatik, Wirtschaftsinformatik, Mathematik, sind von Vorteil, werden aber nicht vorausgesetzt. Darüber hinaus runden einige der folgenden Punkte Ihr Profil ab:

  • Kenntnisse in der Testautomatisierung mit JUnit oder anderen Frameworks
  • Erfahrungen im Bereich Continuous Integration, zum Beispiel Jenkins, und im Konfigurationsmanagement
  • Erfahrungen in der Arbeit mit Git, Ant und Gradle
  • Kenntnisse im Bereich internationaler Smart-Card-Standards (z.B. ISO 7816, GlobalPlatform)
  • Kenntnisse in den Bereichen Public-Key-Infrastrukturen (PKI) und Verschlüsselung, IT-Sicherheits- und digitale Identitätslösungen, digitale Signaturen, sichere E-Mail, eIDAS-Verordnung, elektronische Ausweise oder elektronische Reisepässe gemäß ICAO
  • Erfahrung mit Kryptografie-Bibliotheken, wie z.B. BouncyCastle
  • Kenntnisse aus dem Umfeld der Common-Criteria-Evaluierungsprozesse (CC-Evaluierung)
  • Bereitschaft sich in komplexe Systeme sowie Legacy Code einzuarbeiten

Your role / tasks / responsibilities​

Your profile

You have experience in modern software development. A (technical) education or a degree in (e.g.) computer science, business informatics or mathematics is an advantage, but is not required. In addition to knowledge in the areas of public key infrastructures (PKI) and encryption, you have market knowledge in one or more of the following fields: IT security and digital identity solutions, digital signatures, secure e-mail, eIDAS regulation, electronic ID cards or electronic passports according to ICAO. In addition, some of the following points round off your profile:

  • Experience in the development of embedded systems, ideally with Java Card or C
  • Practical experience in programming with Java
  • Experience in describing software architectures using UML
  • Knowledge of test automation with JUnit or other frameworks
  • Experience in the area of continuous integration, for example Jenkins, and in configuration management
  • Knowledge of the Common Criteria (CC) evaluation processes
  • Know-how in the area of “International Smart Card Standards (ISO 7816, GlobalPlatform)”

Your Responsibilities

As a working student in our Test & Support team, you will conduct manual product tests based on predefined test plans. You will create new test cases and maintain existing cases and test plans. Documenting the setup of test environments and the requirements for tests will also be part of your responsibilities. With the appropriate expertise, you may also contribute to the further development of existing test automation processes.

Other aspects of your role include:

  • Preparing test environments (Windows, possibly Linux and macOS)
  • Creating bug-fix tickets in our Jira system
  • After appropriate training: Possibly handling 2nd-level support tickets

Your Profile

You are currently pursuing a degree in IT Security, Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, or a comparable field of study. Ideally, you already have some initial experience in testing or programming. Additionally, you possess knowledge in several of the following areas:

  • Basic knowledge of Java/C++
  • Initial experience with test automation
  • Strong familiarity with Windows OS, Linux, or macOS
  • Basic knowledge in the area of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
  • Theoretical or practical know-how in setting up operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
  • Initial exposure to encryption technologies (S/MIME or PGP)
  • Familiarity with bug trackers (Jira), Jenkins, and virtualization environments

You work in a structured and solution-oriented manner. You pursue your goals with motivation and focus. Your creativity helps you consistently find optimal solutions in complex and technically challenging environments.
