DEVOPS ENGINEER (M/W/D)

Your role

As a DevOps Engineer, you will maintain the development environments of our Development department and continuously develop them with the help of modern tools. In collaboration with your team, you will develop and implement solution concepts and architecture proposals. In particular, you will set up development networks and ensure the corresponding quality assurance. This includes the administration and further development of the internal build and test infrastructure, including Jenkins and Gitlab servers, as well as Windows and Linux systems.

Further aspects of your job are

  • Implementation and controlling of assigned IT projects (recording of requirements, concept design, installation and, if necessary, planning and implementation of training)
  • Software and system rollout in various environments including automated installation and configuration of different operating systems, such as Windows and Linux, Windows and Linux server systems
  • Windows, Linux and Mac client systems
  • Service components such as directory services, databases, application servers
  • Support or independent implementation of internal and customer projects
  • Technical support for internal IT

Your profile

A (technical) apprenticeship or degree, e.g. in computer science, business informatics or mathematics, is an advantage, but is not a prerequisite. You have up-to-date specialist knowledge in the field of build automation and have ideally gained initial experience in development projects. You are a team player with analytical skills, goal orientation and communication skills.

You also have knowledge of several of the following:

  • Good knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge of CI/CD (Jenkins/Gitlab)
  • Experience in the setup, administration and documentation of IT infrastructures and server systems (Windows and Linux)
  • Knowledge in the areas of network technology, firewalls and VPN
  • Good knowledge of automation with the help of scripts (Ansible, MS PowerShell, Python, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages and system descriptions for IT infrastructures (concept designs)
  • Programming or scripting experience (e.g. with Powershell, bash or Python)
  • Experience in the Linux and Microsoft server environment (Exchange, AD, DHCP, DNS)
  • Practical knowledge in the area of containers (Docker / Kubernetes) and virtualization (Proxmox, VMWare ESXi)
  • Basic knowledge of cryptography, encryption, signatures and authentication

Your way of working is always structured and solution-oriented. You pursue your goals in a motivated and goal-oriented manner. Your creativity helps you to always find the optimum solution in complex and technically demanding environments.

Security and usability are not a contradiction in terms for you. Experience in IT baseline protection or network security rounds off your profile.
