The Austrian State Printing House (OSD) is an Austrian high-security company with a focus on secure identities. As a company, the OSD has been active in identity management for more than 200 years. We are known for the production and personalization of passports, visas, driver’s licenses and other identification documents.

The OSD also successfully offers identity management solutions such as national population registers and biometric systems (AFIS/ABIS) which deal with the identity and biometrics of people.

In addition the OSD is also active in the area of digitization since several years with the “MIA” app. MIA combines physical ID documents with a digital identity on the smartphone and thus provides a key technology for the digitization of the public sector, as well as the private sector. With two successful launches of MIA in European countries, OSD underlined its expertise in the area of digital identities.

With its combination of physical and digital high security solutions the OSD therefore can cover the lifecycle of an identity from enrolment, to central registration, personalisation of ID documents including the PKI, till verification.
